We enjoyed our stay. Short bus ride to Winchester and walking distance to the train station. The walking trails were great too. It’s a very peaceful environment. The kitchen was well equipped to make our meals. David is a great host and questions were answered immediately.

Wimborne Cottage was perfect for our multi-generational family gathering. Great location in a lovely village near Winchester with excellent local pubs and easy access to the surrounding areas. The cottage is characterful and well-equipped to feel like a home from home. David was responsive to communication and ensured we had everything needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The cottage was absolutely perfect and David was a perfect host, quickly responding to any issues - including setting up a new, v good wi-fi router. My sisters and I had spent ages planning a spring break for our Mum (82) to look forward to following her recovery from a major operation, and Twyford more than lived up to our expectations. The facilities were spotless, well planned and ideal for anyone with mobility issues. The village location was fantastic - with great country pubs in easy walking distance, a tardis of a local Spar stocked with everything we needed and lovely countryside right on the doorstep. We were ideally situated to explore the local attractions - including Jane Austen's house at Chawton, Lymington's Georgian charm and Downton Abbey. We came away agreeing with the author that we should like to (sic) "build a cottage just like this one, invite our friends from London and be happy."

Das Cottage ist sehr schön und hochwertig renoviert. Alles war sauber und die Ausstattung war tip-top. Der Gastgeber David drängt sich nicht auf und hält sich sehr diskret im Hintergrund - reagiert aber umgehend auf Nachfragen. Fussläufig sind in 5 min zwei Pubs, einer davon sehr angesagt und gut (The Bugle Inn), und ein Tante-Emma-Laden für kleinere Besorgungen erreichbar. Von der nahegelegenen Bahnstation Shawford kann man ohne umsteigen innerhalb knapper 90 Minuten in London sein. Alles in allem hatten wir einen großartigen Aufenthalt und kommen gerne wieder!
